Does too much masturbating cause premature ejaculation?

One of the questions I get asked all the time is how masturbation affects how long you last in bed.

My answer always is that it CAN reduce how long you last if you do it in the “wrong” way…

But equally it can also INCREASE how long you last if you do it in the “right” way.

Of course, in a more general sense there is no actual “right” or “wrong” way to masturbate… and I’m definitely not going to get into a moral debate about whether masturbating so is right or wrong here…

OK, so a concept you have to understand is that masturbation is like “training” for sex.

Although masturbation and sex are two different things, you need to start looking at the two as linked.

How you masturbate WILL affect how long you last during sex.

This is because masturbation is like CONDITIONING for sex.

During masturbation you effectively TRAIN your body how long you expect it to last.

Therefore if you want to last long in bed, then it’s unrealistic to expect to do so if when you masturbate you bring yourself to orgasm within minutes.

And this is one of the reasons why many guys experience P.E.

When growing up there’s often a fear of “getting caught” while masturbating, therefore there’s a tendency to try and do it as quickly as possible to minimize the chances of getting caught.

Then, out of habit, guys end up masturbating quickly for the rest of their lives.

The problem with this, of course, is that when it finally comes to sex, all this conditioning then encourages early orgasm, because your body reacts to sex in the same way you’ve trained it to react during masturbation.

If you want to last longer in bed then you need to start masturbating for longer.

And ideally you need to be masturbating for as long as you’d like sex to last.

The reason being that most guys orgasm even quicker during sex than they do while masturbating, therefore you need to be masturbating for a long enough period of time to condition your body to last long enough during sex.

Now, what I’ve just shared here is a simple concept, but not one that should be glanced over or dismissed as insignificant.

Start making a conscious effort to masturbate for longer from now on.
